Kentucky Economic Justice Alliance

CMI is a partner with Kentuckians for the Commonwealth (KFTC) and Kentucky Youth Advocates (KYA) in the Kentucky Economic Justice Alliance, a grassroots effort to promote progressive social and economic change in Kentucky. We achieve our goals by fostering civic participation and leadership development, conducting research and policy analysis, and communicating new ideas.

Visit the KEJA website for news of KEJA’s current campaign in support of fair and adequate tax reform, and extensive information on tax and budget issues and good government initiatives in Kentucky and the nation.

Digital Storytelling Workshop

CMI Digital Storytelling Workshops provide training and technical assistance to organizations interested in using media and new technologies to tell their stories, document their histories, solve problems, educate and promote their organizations, and to support efforts to achieve social and economic justice.

In 2005 CMI completed a series of Digital Storytelling Workshops with Mid South Delta Initiative (MSDI) community partner organizations in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Appalshop trainers spent a week with each group introducing digital video, audio and photo techniques, and in the process, producing a short community video.
